We created these Visual Effects for the Blackstar. The movie was shot in one day and didn’t have the budget for gun blanks, so we added every gunshot, shell ejection, bullet trail, bullet hit, bullet splash, bullet spark, and muzzle flash. We also erased crew members, logos, and crew helicopters. Oh, and the explosion at the end. And the cat’s eyes. Thanks to Craig Dyer, Doug Blake, and the entire crew for an amazing project to work on!

We shot, edited, and created the VFX for this short film with pilot Craig Dyer to showcase his piloting skills, plus those of everyone involved. James was the Cinematographer and operated camera from the yacht and helicopter’s bench seat. Dave shot from a separate little boat and edited the movie. Thanks to Craig Dyer, Doug Blake, and Matt Sigloch!

We did the Visual Effects for the short comedy Ledge Fighters. Director Scott Gairdner tells us how we used on-set supervision, a dummy, HDR photography, fireball stock footage, and 3D computer generated barrels to create the explosion scene. Thanks Scott!

James was Gaffer on Ledge Fighters, a short comedy by Scott Gairdner. James used orange and blue lights to match the location a give an 80′s feel. Thanks to Scott for a fun shoot!

Ghostlight did the Visual Effects for Krantz, a dark comedy directed by Chris Cantwell. The opening scene required John Krantz to give a speech in front of a giant banner, which we created as a miniature. The movie was shot on the RED, and the Visual Effects were completed at 2K resolution – the same as major motion pictures.

Krantz is a dark comedy written and directed by Chris Cantwell. James was the Cinematographer. The film was shot on the RED ONE, which shoots 4K resolution and uses 35mm lenses. James used overly-dramatic lighting and tilt-shift lenses to emphasize John Krantz’ warped state of mind. Many thanks to Chris, Brad, Ken, and the entire crew!

Our good friend Joey Boukadakis wrote and directed Dinner With Raphael, a short comedy about a young man who introduces his fiance to his brother who…. has a condition. James did the Cinematography and Dave Edited. The film stars Paul Boukadakis, Dianna Agron, Michael Bower, Brett Paesel and Richard Riehle (Office Space). Careful – this is really offensive and really funny!
